Prendi 100 film di Hollywood, 100 blockbuster.
Prendi 100 supereroi, maghi, agenti segreti.
Prendi 100 trailer.
Frulla il tutto, aggiungendo una colonna sonora epica e un montaggio adeguato.
Risultato? Eterna, un cortometraggio piuttosto geniale, che fonde insieme 100 film celebri in un mix irresistibile. Chiaramente è un esperimento visivo, un gioco o poco più che sfrutta le regole dello storytelling più trendy, eppure appena sfumano via le risate e il testosterone smette di urlare, mi nascono spontanee delle riflessioni.
La prima: Propp aveva dannatamente ragione. Ci sono delle strutture costanti in tutte le storie, in letteratura si sa ormai benissimo che le fiabe, le storie e i miti in genere hanno sempre in comune uno scheletro della narrazione. Agli occhi di un esperto di semiotica, Biancaneve somiglia tremendamente a 007, Cappuccetto Rosso non è così lontana da Cat Woman. E visto in quest’ottica, Eterna è per me la dimostrazione definitiva delle teorie di Propp. Si tratta di teorie che ci propinano dagli anni di università in tutte le salse, eppure non mi era mai capitato di vederle materializzate in maniera così chiara e lampante. Per non dire così divertente!
La seconda: ci lasciamo affabulare sempre nella stessa maniera. Certo, quando al cinema ci sediamo a guardare l’ultimo film di supereroi o maghi di turno, ci piace pensare che si tratti di qualcosa di nuovo e “mai visto prima”. Eppure, guardando Eterna dobbiamo ammettere senza se e senza ma che i supereroi son tutti uguali, i superpoteri son tutti uguali, le storie son tutte uguali.
La terza: 100 film, ognuno con un budget da almeno 100 milioni di dollari. In tutto fanno un sacco di soldi. Frullati così ne vien fuori una bella pappa di effetti speciali, computer graphics, emozioni varie ed eventuali.
L’autore è Vadzim Khudabets e di professione crea, indovina un po’, trailer per il cinema, la musica, l’advertising.

Dall’epopea di Gilgamesh in Mesopotamia ai Transformers Americani, da quando migliaia di anni fa ci sedevamo davanti al fuoco ad oggi che Youtube ha preso il posto del braciere nel raccontarci storie, in realtà in quanto esseri umani abbiamo da sempre bisogno di storie. Abbiamo bisogno di raccontarci storie, di inventare eroi e miti che ci dicano chi siamo.
Eterna non dimostra (solo) che Hollywood racconta storie banali.
Mi piace pensare che Eterna sia un titolo scelto per sottolineare qualcosa di profondissimo ed antichissimo.
